Nice Job everyone!!! Tele and Dog, you got a bit of country twang going on there -- I have no idea how to get that kind of sound. Nice licks, too.

I guess me and Shibby went a little crazy with gain, compared to you guys. But Shibby, that was a nice improvement, especially if you say you're a newbie. I also think you got the best tone on this track. How did you record?

I was wondering, of those that heard my playing on previous jams, do you think my tone got any better, b/c I was trying some new things recording-wise. (?)

See, I've never heard much (any?) slide playing or country music, for that matter, so my idea of "country twang" is kinda limited. Anyway, it sounded cool and unusual to my ears.

Dog -- see how unqualified in country/country rock I am???? :D :D :D

Oh, and I plugged straight into the computer, using Amplitube and Adobe Audition (which is kind of like Audacity).

The setting in Amplitube was "Brit Class A head with a vintage 4x10 open cab with gain on 0" with an auto wah, chorus, and overdrive "stomp boxes".

Alex, check out Kieth Richards of the Rolling Stones, songs like Far Away Eyes, Dead Flowers, You Gotta move, wild Horses and Honky Tonk Woman all have a " country" sound . The Stones have been called the "Greatest country band in the world"  --the dog

Alex, hope you didn't misunderstand, I wasn't upset about the comment, it just surprised me. I love the lapsteel and pedal steel players associated with country and try to capture some of it in my slide playing, I just never thought I was successful at it. Your comment was a good little boost, thanks.

I'm with Tele here, I love a little "twang" in my playing. Thats why i like Fender guitars and probally the same goes for teleplayer too.I also played in a few country rock bands back in the 70's. A lot of rock music was influenced by country music ( hank williams, Carl Perkins) for example. George Harrison was largly influenced by Carl Perkins :D :D Rock-n-roll was born from country and blues 8) 8) I'll send you a country jam that nroberts and I did on another forum, --the dog

Cool. My only exposure to lap/pedal steel was what Gilmore did on Dark Side of the Moon and such.

And yeah, Fenders are nice. All bright and spanky. I play a Fender strat right now, though I'd like to get a full hollow body in the near future.
