Well its all brand spankin new to me. Would like to play with others online but not quite sure how to goes about it. Have a logitech webcam and fairly competent computer skills.
Just need a little direction and voila! ...it could be soup.

We mostly due free form colaborations where people all record portions of a jam and then someone mixes it all together. A general format we all follow is one setup by nroberts. You can read about it here http://www.guitars101.com/vb/showthread.php?t=30219 .
To get one started just find a backing track ( you can find one here http://www.guitarbt.com/index.php?showforum=9 you have to sign up but its free), split up time slots, and wait for people to sign up.
You will need some kind of recording software, I use Audacity b/c its free you can get it here http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ . Then just have fun. If you have questions ask people are always quick to help.

Hey... a band at my school was called tangent and they performed recently. Nirvana, Jimi Hendrixe, and Black Sabbath. Then Bill had a bass solo. He tried to throw a pick into the aduience but it fell onto his feet. the end.
