just can't get a good recording without some blunders.

We were supposed to take the blunders out?! Oops....

Don't worry Bish, it's just about having fun. :D

What he said!

Bish - I know what you mean. I could have kept tinkering because in every take there was always at least one note I didn't like. In the end, I just decided it was time. I had my 12 year old daughter listen to my two favorite takes. What you'll eventually hear is the one she liked best. Hopefully, it'll be good enough! :)

Ok then, my part is done and sent. Hopefully a successful send.

I, too, relied on a faithful ear to guide me to the right version. (Thank you. )

Good luck guys. I know it'll be cool.

I'm not sure how true to BB I got but I put everything Bish had into it. :)

Thanks for keeping me a part of this great collaboration. 8)

The Wait is Over

URL REMOVED

You all did a great job and it was great fun.

Dan, For some reason your part was a bit short
So I did some creative editing to make a complete
work. If there is more to your part send it along
and I'll make another MP3 .

In the mean time Steve gets a little
extra time. I hope nobody minds.

Thank you all and I am looking foward to future jams

I liked it. Nice job guys.

Dntalb, you have the groove down, and I feel the emotion you were putting into this.

Steve, your timing is excellent, nice.

Bish, short but sweet, in key, and on time.

celt, love your tone.

Overall, I enjoyed it.

Just one thought, that you need to build to something. It felt like you building to break loose, and it never came. If you understand what, I mean.

Good job guys, It has been awhile since, I did one of these. I'm gonna have host another one of these soon. I have a tune I was working, i have no ideas for, I should use that.

Thanks for the kind words. :D

John, not sure why my part was short. :? It sounds ok though, so we'll just leave it at that. Thanks for hosting this jam & letting me join in. 8) Fun learning experience.

Good job everyone.

Geez I hate to be the party pooper but my part is way in the back ground and there isn't even the 2nd half being played.

What happened? :(

Plus my part was way ahead of the beat.

Do I need to do it again? I'm not approving, sorry.

Thanks for the nice words guys - this was fun. Can't wait to try another.

John - thanks for hosting. I do have one question - my part seemed overmodulated, which was not my intent. I was going for more of the mild overdrive/blue sound. Since this is my first real recording, I'm wondering if there's something I need to do on my end to bring it down a bit.

All in all a great experience!

Hey Guys,

Thanks for listening and all the nice comments.

Steve,

I think if you use a little less volume when recording
it may help that problem. Or it may be my poor mixing
skills.

Dan,

Sorry about that I ment to say it was Bish's part that
was short your part was fine. My bad

Bish,

I just came back from fixing the volume on your
part and apologize for the first edit.

I don't know what happen to your second half that was
all I recieved so I went with it for now. If you can send
the whole thing again I will try to do another mix.

The being ahead the beat is also my fault and
hope you can forgive me
as this is my first effort doing one of these.

Thanks to everybody for their hard work and I'll try
to improve at mixing these in the future.

John

This is sounding really great, everyone!

John, you could bring the volume up on Bish's section even more, and up a little on your section, as well. After all, the backing track is, just that, and we want to hear the solos in the forefront. JMHO.

I'm curious if you intentionally put Steve's part only through the right channel and Bish's part through the left to "position" them in the "room"? Sections 1 & 4 seem to be through both left and right.

Keep up the great work, guys!

Getting the timing right is still my bigest problem  If every one sends ther parts correctly it should be pretty close if not right on, but sometimes you will have to line it up manually. Thats hard to learn to do, but a good skill to learn :D
One thing I have found is that once you have every thing mixed ...sleep on it...Wait and go over every thing the next day when you are fresh, and your ears will pick up things you didn't notice on the last session. If any one would like some practice mixing stuff i can send you files to a previous jam and you can mix them together....hmmmm... I think i will create a lesson that ya'll can download from one of my sound click sites  --the dog
