This company has done something remarkable.
This is AMAZING :D :D :D
You still have to have a pretty fast connection though, but this software lessens the delay.
check it out for yourself
This was first on the news at 2 here i think, but it definitely was on new years eve.
I can't wait til it's out of BETA. They say it works extremely well right now.
Music is one of the most powerful forces on this planet, why not put it to use?

this could be a good thing.
I was testing this earlier vs a couple of other methods...it does look pretty good.
My computer at home is dying, so I can't test it out, but I've always thought that fighting latency is a little futile. If this can do it, then great, I'll be happy to eat my words :)
The best idea I've seen for this kind of thing is Ninjam, which gets around latency by refusing to fight it - it works in measures, and your measure is played to others while you're recording the next, and what you're recording is being down over their last measure. Can't try that one either, but it makes more sense to me to sidestep latency rather than confront it... it'll be the first I try after my pending refit.
(made by the Winamp/Reaper people too, and that's as high an endorsement as I can give for software ;))
