Hey guys, my local store has a 1975' Gibson (i dont know what its called, but apparently its the guitar santana used before he went all new or something.)

Its pretty worn, but plays decently.

Guy wants 600$ for it. Comes with a case

Worth it??

Thanks

double cutaway would be the SG
single cutaway would be the L6s

That's a reasonable price for a L6s in decent shape. They're hard to come by. I wouldn't pay any more than that though. You said pretty worn. That guitar is overpriced by about $200.

You can do better on a used SG

did he use a Gibson SG before the L6s? I'm pretty sure that after the L6s, he used a Yamaha SG.

I remember he used that Yamaha, but I thought right around 1970 he used an SG. I could be wrong.

Almost every picture I can find of him he is playing the LS-6 or the Yamaha until the PRS came along.

Here is one I found:

If it was Santana's it might be worth it.

Thanks, Nick. Wonder what the gizmo behind the tailpiece is. Doesn't quite look like a trem, but maybe it is a custom/homebrew version.

Ric: P90s on that SG! He gave up P90s for an L6s!

I'm gonna say it's overpriced. It isn't a good deal.

Take a look at completed sales on ebay

It's definitely some sort of trem unit. Close-ups show fairly crude design work, so I suspect that it's a homebrew.

I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.
