About a month ago I bought a cheap music stand at Skip's. I think it would tip over if you blew on it. Over the last couple of years I have been remodeling my house. After building new kitchen cabinets I had some of the maple I used left over, so I decided to make a very sturdy music stand. I added a lower shelf to it that I use to keep my Tuner/Metronome, iPod, pencils, etc. on. It's acually nice to be able to turn a page and not fear that everything will fall to the floor.
That's a pretty neat stand indeed, would score pretty high on the vintage scale. :)
vk,
That is awesome!
I, too, got tired of the flimsy stand I had, and invested in a heavy, sturdy stand.
But yours is a piece of art!

Wow great work on the music stand vk! :D
If I asked my brother to make me one I would be waiting years because he's so busy.

Thanks for the nice comments. I think it makes me want to practice more, too bad it didn't have powers to make me better, but I guess that will come with time.
Very nice stand...to bad I don't have the talent to do that..I just lay it out on the couch and sit down next to it. But I try to memorize the songs ASAP so I don't have to look at any papers..your so right they all end up on the floor..that's usually time to take a break

It was them that turned me to drink.
I am with Chuckster, I think you've stumbled across a nice business.
