Great to watch. :)
I've seen him before, but it's always worth going back.... and back... for more.
It's a joy to watch hands like that at work. There's a relaxed elegance about them that's a pleasure to see. That's pretty much how I play too (in my dreams of course... 8) ). Another 50 years practice and I might get close.
In the meantime, I'll just pop back for another look. Thanks for the link.
Cheers,
Chris

So it was YOU was it!
I thought that he might have been getting his hair styling advice from Andrew Symonds, the Australian cricketer.
Of course, The Sultans of Swing was originally fingerpicked. :D
"A cheerful heart is good medicine."
i loved knights in white satin.....but how does he keep so cool with all the noise in the background.....i'd be up and punching if i was giving my all while the 'adoring' fans were talking small talk and playing dominoes  8) 8)
I'm surprised there isn't either more noise (people activing cheering) or less, just absolute silence, I don't think he's paying any attention to the people at all, if he did he'd surely make a pile of mistakes. I personally can't imagine I would ever get remotely as good at the guitar as this guy, though I have to admit, I can play pink panther about half as good as he did on his video (I get the impression this guy pretty much nails whatever he's playing almost every time though, no need for a second take, I need a second take nearly every time hehe...). Normally videos like this motivate me to play more, this one just motivates me to have a nice accoustic guitar... well that and to brush up on finger picking... I'm so used to playing with a pick that it's hard to switch, and suffer through my n00b fingerstyle playing (it's strangely difficult to play even my most ingrained songs finger style if I'm used to playing them with a pick).
Wow very impressive is this guy. I may be wrong but it appears like he is a flamenco player .
American by birth, Texan by GRACE OF GOD
There are two kinds of people in this world... THose who live in Texas and those who wish they lived in Texas.
The videos I watched he was mostly using cliassical finger style but that's the nice thing about using fingerstyle, it's easy to switch it up and do the occassioal different thing mid playing. Classical finger style = thumb to play Big E - D and index for G, middle for B and ring for little E.
You see, it's not the actual fingering that gets me about these guys, it's how their brains break down a tune into a bassline and a melody, and then they are able to find and play both at the same time. I just don't have that processing power, but guys like this, and TE and Chet and that Jake guy, they all do.
Regards,
Paul
It's absolutely impressive, though I don't know that each one of these songs doesn't represent endless hours practicing them in his bedroom, he may have spent hours upon hours coming up with the choices of notes and little techniques he applies through these songs, followed by another twenty to thirty more hours practicing playing it just like he did in the videos, and then the videos were made... I don't think that's exactly the case, but I also strongly suspect it's not entirely wrong either. It's hard to imagine achieving that level of playing/skill but I am pretty sure it's just dedicated practice.
i get the impression that he's in a coffee shop or some similar venue from the background noise in some of these clips
