Has anyone bothered watching this variety hour style show? Most of the acts are rather lame and boring, imo. Except the music related ones. Last night I saw this duo of brothers called The Millers end the show. One brother plays guitar and is 20 years old. The other brother is 12 years old and plays harmonica. WOW  . If you missed it you missed a treat deluxe. This 12 year old has got talent. The kid tore up the harmonica. Judges told him to ditch his older brother because he didn't need him to make it big. Man did this kid impress me. I am unable to view video here at work so I can't link a video to it. Well worth the time to search for it. imo

Here's a link to a video clip of it:

Unfortunately, I only have video, and not sound, on this computer, so I'll have to actually listen to it later.

Wow, that's impressive. One of the teachers at my old highschool was amazing at harmonica too, I've never seen anybody like him, but that kid is close, and has 25 years of practice to get to where my teacher is.

Having no TV or way to access this stuff I can't be sure, but the new Joe Bonamassa CD, You & Me, has a 12 year old harmonica player named LD Miller playing on one of the tracks (Your Funeral And My Trial) and it's very, very well done. Might be the same kid...

Peace

This blows anything I've ever seen right out of the water. That's unreal.

If I remember correctly the judges were calling the boy by the name of either LD or JD so it may be him. Awesome talent he has. Regis was comparing him to a young Wayne Newton. I wouldn't know any better about that but he, Regis, was impressed as well.

I'm more disappointed with that 'Rock Star' show with Dave Navarro, whatever happened to paying your dues and then making it big.

He is already professional? Hmmmm......But anyway I think he is going to win....his stage presence is amazing. I did notice that his pidgeon toed antics were strikingly similar to Taylor Hicks (winner of "American Idol"). There is a little girl who sings (rather belt out a polished presentation) and as far as talent goes she is on track too, but this harmonica playing 12 year old brings tears to my eyes he is so powerful!!!!

I have to say that the kid has a bright future. The thing that really irked me was the way that jackass from the judges panel took one of the happiest moments in that kids life and trashed it by telling the kid to get rid of the older brother (whom he obviously idolizes) and made the poor kid cry. Even if he had a point that was not the place or time to point that out :!: Oh well I suppose it was good for ratings

If you have not seen this, check out Victor Wooten on Bass playing Amazing Grace.

amen smokin dogg

Anyways, I thought he was very good..But I don't know, when I hear harmonica, I don't want to hear something that sounds like a speed shredding guitar player...looks like I'm alone on this, but I'd rather hear a great blues harp player...I guess that's the same with my guitar tastes as well.

I watched a couple of segments of this show and I must respectfully disagree. Some of the circus arts type acts have been exceptional. And as a hobbyist juggler/unicyclist, I think the judges are remarkably unsophisticated in appreciating these sorts of acts and particularly the eccentric humor that they employ. I think they need Ed Sullivan to give them a what for.
