I caught the Christmas show last year and plan on going this year too.
If you've never heard of them, they basically rock out on Christmas music (with respect) with distortion, sustain and power. My wife bought the tickets last year and I was like, ahhh I don't know, it doesn't sound like my cup of tea (with never hearing them).
MAN was I wrong, they ROCKED the house down! They played at the PPAC last year, nice small setting. They are playing in a much larger setting this year, but it's still 10 minutes from my house. :D
The only thing I didn't like was the lights. It was a FREAKIN' light show and a half pointed at us the whole night! Hopefully that won't be the case this year.
All in all, I'd recommend any of you to check them out. Good stuff!
Here is the link to their home page - Trans-Siberian Orchestra
They've also recorded some other stuff, like Beethoven's Last Night, a rock opera.
Trans-Siberian Orchestra gets me into the holiday spirit. Also some of the first guitar tabs I looked up when I started playing guitar again last year.
:D

Everything is 42..... again.
I had never heard of them until my son bought me one of their Christmas CD's a few years ago. I would love to hear them live sometime.
They are fantastic and do put you in the holiday spirit.

I was expecting something like ELO :(
Lol, Anways I like the stuff on their website and was wondering which album I should check out first. I'm leaning more toward to Beethoven's Last Night.

I like it, but I'm familiar with only it and the song that gets some radio play around Christmas (Christmas Eve in Sarajevo, maybe?) so I can't tell you whether it's their best album.
So I just listened to Beethoven's Last Night and it blew me away. Went far beyond my expectations. I want to check out their Christmas, but I have feeling if I do I would be having deja vu of the holidays for a couple weeks.... :?
Maybe I posted this too premature to the holiday, but I didn't want anyone to miss out on a great show!
I have “The Lost Christmas Eve†and really like it. I'll be crankin' it soon.
I realize they do other things, but with the holidays coming up.
