BTW, anyone else noticed, those youtube links - a lot of songs seem to play for a couple of seconds, pause for five seconds, resume, pause etc etc ad infinitum?

Vic

I just push pause and let it load halfway then play it.

For my favorite Clapton solos, I'm with smokindog on this one.

- Presence of the lord: the entire song is this slow piece, then out of nowhere this awesome wah solo just comes in, completely spontaneous. It's not his best, but it's a pleasure to hear.

-Key to Love (Beano Album): When I first heard this, it completely floored me. I know it's basically the same move repeated, but it's the whole vibe of the solo. You can almost see the les paul/marshall combination, and that amazing tube overdrive that Clapton gets. Not much depth to it, but it's still great.

Crossroads (Cream Reunion DVD): I can't really explain this one, you just have to see it for yourself. IMO, Clapton played much better here. at the reunion, then he's been doing for his solo stuff (guitar solo wise)

EDIT:
whoops, almost forgot the ungoldy Crossroads solo from Wheels of Fire
