Thunder Fingers and I have completed our Frankenstien! The Rondo SX ThunderFinger! 3 piece alder body, Maple neck with 2 way truss rod. Wilkinson tuners .... Wilkinson die cast bridge. (Not the crappy Fender bent thing) USA made EMG Select pickups. (Hum canceling) StewMac upgrade on pots and caps. (Vintage correct .o50 uf cap!) Ready for this? $250.00. Yes, and we will put it up against any American made Jazz Bass. Come challenge us. 8)

Those SX bass guitars are nice. The bassist in a band I was in a few years back got one on a whim, and even stock he loved playing it above his more expensive bass guitars. Good job with the mods. 8) Let's hear that bad boy!

We will have to record something. I think we did well. It obviously isn't the Best Jazz bass in the world but I titled the post that cause it sure seems that way after we got done with it.

The Les Paul bass looks interesting ...

and the Hoffner behind...
and a 6-string on the right...?
What's going on here!?!
Nice looking bass! An SX is my next equipment purchase. I'd heard good things about them and went for my bass lesson a few weeks ago and my teacher, who plays $1000+ basses most of the time pulls out a SX P-bass. He said he loves it. I played it and it felt and sounded great. He had replaced the original pickups, though.
She's a thing of beauty all right. Good job on the mods. :)
Do we get to hear her in action?
Congrats goes out to TF, and a hearty attaboy to TR. I'm sure it'll be put to good use. 8)

Well ...... as for all the bass guitars Laz .... The boy caught gas from me. The Hofner? Well, Rondo strikes again. Thats a Douglas and a fine bass I might add. The 6 string? Douglas, $189! It is awsome too. Active electronics. My son says to tell you you need to see the one in the case .... it's a Tobias. 8)
Rahul, The Les Paul, thats an Epiphone. $429 and we need to upgrade it. Go figure.
JWMartin .... get one ... mod it .... it is worth it. The necks and bodies are very good. The electronics and tuners aren't bad but can be improved on. Oh, and for not too much cash I might add.
Chris, gonna try to do something this weekend ..... promise!
Roy, yes he will. The boy can play!

He has 2, one with and one without lines. They are both budget Rondo instruments as well though. The one with the lines is a Jazz Bass copy and the one with the blank board is a modern style bass. Those are some nice bass guitars you got there too Laz, I'll be sure the boy sees them.
