Everyone tells me I have huge hands (and I always thought I did) but I can only reach to the 7th fret, actually, my thumb reaches just short of the 7th fret.

On my Strat I reach the 6th fret wire, on my Jaguar, the 7th fret.
While it is certainly nice that you can span 8 or 9 frets from thumb to little finger , I don't know anyone personally who plays that way . A better measure of reach would be from index finger to pinky . If this were a piano forum it would be a different story . I can reach 6 frets from index finger to pinky on my Les Paul ( 8 from thumb ) .
If I claim to be a wise man , it surely means that I don't know .
No pic, but with my pinky on the nut I can fret the 9th fret and get a clean sound (my thumb reaches about 3/4 of the way towards the 10th) - my right hand reaches just past the 8th fret! Look like guitaring has stretched my left a bit! :shock:

My thumb can reach as far as the middle of the 8th fret. This is on a 21 fret Squier '51 btw.
