Is this a good guitar? Could I be able to upgrade it in the future?

To be honest I've never heard of Davison. For the same price, Epiphone makes a Les Paul copy for $150: http://www.zzounds.com/item--EPISPII

I think for $250 you can get something a bit nicer: http://www.zzounds.com/item--EPILP100

I'm not sure how much you want to go for the Les Paul look. A decent starter guitar pack is the Squire SE-100: http://www.zzounds.com/item--SQU0280800506
For $200 you get a guitar and an amp.

The best thing to do is to go to a guitar shop nearby and see what's available before buying.
Good luck!

looks like a photo top, cheap knock off to me i would avoid these and look into an agile or sx from rondo if you want an inexpensive lp copy.

Oh, right, good point. Many people recommend Rondo's stuff as well, and it's in the same price range:

Funny, I was thinking how much the Davison looks like an Agile. :D

Get an Agile! For $178 with delivery fee, I have an extremely great .Agile AL-2000. It is beautiful and plays great too. I like it better than my Gibson faded V that cost $400 more. For that extra money, I could have 2 more AL-2000's or a really, really nice AL-3000.

It is a small world for metal fanatics. I welcome you fellow musicians, especially the metalheads!

I own a Davison myself, though confess not to know what model it is. I bought a starter bundle which included amp, guitar, input jack, a case, and picks. This was the first electric guitar I ever owned and, as such, can attest to the fact that, it is very cheap for a reason. While the guitar is rather aesthetically pleasing in itself and durable ,it is easily discernible as cheap upon close inspection. For instance, the volume and tone nobs on the guitar face are low-grade plastic, liable to fall off at any moment (admittedly, they have yet to do so, however). Additionally, the guitar has VERY poor sound quality and refuses to stay in tune for more than approximately an hour of play. All this being said, however, I do believe it is fairly priced, imperfections and all, making it great for a beginner simply looking play around with and get a feel for an electric guitar.
