I like rock (prog rock and old school stuff that just rocks out), classical, jazz, and a little hip-hop, and I enjoy other genres as well. The ones I've listed are the only ones I usually buy though.

Metal (Seether, Slipknot, Pantera, Metallica), Rock/Punk (Green Day, Social Distortion), Rock (AC/DC, Aerosmith, ZZ Top), Blues (the Winter Brothers, SRV), with a dash of country (Dixie Chicks, Johnny Cash)

Rock....anything from Beatles, Stones, Who, Kinks, Dylan, Manfred Mann, Hollies in the early to mid sixties....

later on , Dylan and CCR.....

Then in the 70's Mott, Nazareth, Led Zep, Deep Purple, Springsteen, Eagles, Status Quo....

The 80's, U2 and Big Country....

Nowadays, add a little country to the mix...Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Steve Earle....blues and blues rock....BB King, Robert Johnson,George Thorogood, ZZ Top....

And I still love 60's soul music....Motown, Stax, Atlantic....

there are some people and groups, though, who defy genre typecasting... The Beatles deserve a genre of their own, Dylan has flitted between folk, rock and country, CCR between swamp rock and country, Ry Cooder can fit into any genre he likes.....

:D :D :D

Blues/Blues Rock, Classic Rock, Country pre 91, and jsut about anything else you can list.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming -- "WOW--What a Ride!"

Plain and simple: Rock. I like alot of "fusion" forms of rock, and what I mean by that is bands that combine rock and roll with different styles like blues-rock (SRV, Hendrix, Aerosmith), funk-rock (rhcp), hard rock (Metallica, Godsmack). Rock is interesting because nowadays it's such a huge part of music that most people don't consider it a genre but think of as different smaller forms (hard rock, punk, metal, pop-rock), and even those smaller forms have their own categories! (death metal, nu metal, thrash and progressive are all forms of heavy music). So I find saying which genres i like specifically just takes too long and gives me a headache.
