Favorite Lick

Can't believe I had to manually tab that :roll: It was from a powertab so I can't quite credit it...

The lick continues on, but this part is my favorite (they all sound good though 8) )

I don't really have a favorite lick, I like them all. But here are some that I've always liked especially.

This first lick was used by Hendrix and Page often. This is one of those licks that the faster you play it, the better it sounds. Just repeat this lick over and over and strive a smooth, steady tempo.

Here is a cool Country lick that I like because it is so colorful.

Country blues sort of descend. All 1/8 notes except where indicated. Starts on the last beat of the first measure and finishes on the first beat of the third measure.

This is then repeated for several measures . Very Chuck Berryish . It is all eighth notes with the g string bent as soon as you strike the string so that it plays the same note as the b string .

I like this thread. i'm going to try out all these licks when i get a chance. i'd like to contribute a lick but i don't have one as i don't play licks yet.

Here is a great lick from Robin Trower, may be a little hard to understand.

tr= trill- fast hammer-ons and pull-offs


The C note on the 6th string is probably easiest to fret with the thumb in this lick. On the trills just hammer-on and pull-off as quick as possible 3 or 4 times.

The last little part may be hard to understand. You slide up to the 10th on the D string, letting the note sustain. Then you pluck the 10th fret on the B string, then slide both notes back to the 8th and add a little vibrato. Great lick.
