Donovan was pretty cool back in the day..Herty Gerty Man
"It's all about stickin it to the man!"
It's a long way to the top if you want to rock n roll!
Donovan was pretty cool back in the day..Herty Gerty Man
always dug "Atlantis" and "Season of the Witch"
#4491....
Donovan was awesome.
Here is a video of Hurdy Gurdy Man

I've read that Jimmy Page played the electric guitar on this song (sounds more like Jeff Beck), and that John Paul Jones played the bass, this was the beginning of Led Zeppelin.
Hurdy Gurdy Man has some of the best psychedelic guitar ever.
If you know something better than Rock and Roll, I'd like to hear it - Jerry Lee Lewis

You probably won't find any info looking up CCF - the band was called CCS! I think it stood for something like "Collective Consciousness Society." They also did the TOTP theme tune - yep, that was their version of "Whole Lotta Love." The band - it was meant to be a 40's style big band, but playing rock & R'n'B - was put together by Alexis Korner, who was a hugely influential figure in the early R'nB/Blues/Jazz scene, and a mentor of the Rolling Stones, amongst others. At one time he had a sunday night show on Radio 1 - followed the chart countdown. Damn good show, too. He used to play a lot of blues and gospel, and he'd play obscure classics like Lorraine Ellison's "Stay With Me Baby" and Chickenshack's version of "I'd Rather Go Blind." He passed away back in the 80's - and IMO, his passing left a hole that's never been filled.
