Hi guys ,
Another great festival coming around here. The name is 'Holi' and its the festival of colours.2 days are celebrated for it.Today the prayers would be said and tomorrow COLOURS !
Holi , along with Diwali is the biggest festival of Hindu culture. Its the story of Lord Prahlad winning against the tyranny of his father towards him and the total belief in God.
Tomorrow , the whole nation will literally stop.People will come out and play with colours. There are no age bars. They greet and exchange sweets. The country smiles colours like a beautiful rainbow in the sky.
Many people from US and UK, come specially here to play holi.Jaipur or the pink city is a particular favourite among them because of its cultural heritage.(Exhibit - Bill Clinton enjoyed folk dancing with the village women !)
Its springtime here and perfect weather going out. :D
I wish you all a great holi (though you might not be knowing at all about it) and you could also join the festival of colours.
You can read more about holi here -

Wishing you a great new year once again ,
I am yours always , :)

Ah yes, I've witnessed the Indians where I once worked chasing each other with fists full of die powder. Lots of rainbow hued hair, skin and (ruined) clothing when it was all over. A number of people actually returned to work after hours just for the chance to participate. Actually looked like a pretty good time. I'd liken it to a good "face washing" at first good snow in Wisconsin.
-=tension & release=-
Yup , gnease , and many people go for some sedative too (drinking it with milk...) and get into dancing. It gets near to good madness , though , i will never indulge myself in it.
And i am sure , there must be a lot of indians out there who are going to celebrate !
Always cool to read about other cultures.
Enjoy!

"If the moon were made of ribs, would you eat it?"
Yup , 2 more families are coming to our house tomorrow.
I will turn on the deck , sing on the karaoke maybe and strum my guitar.Lets hope that it turns out all well.
Note to myself - You DAMMED fellow , go to bed now, its 1.15 am.
and many people go for some sedative too (drinking it with milk...)
Is this legal?
Technically not, but what are they gonna do about it? Cannabis naturally grows in India, and milk isn't in short supply either. :D Little reason to act against it anyway: it's impossible to overdose, impossible to get physical addicted to (western cannabis addiction is because of the tobacco, not the cannabis itself), it wears out after only two or three hours and works pretty pacifying. Medically speaking it's far, far healthier then either beer or cigarettes.
That's cool, I loved the culture in Costa Rica and would love to be there learning something new. Happy Holi to you too!
And remember , that are NOT addicted to it.They just drink it in celebration and to get into the groove.
And Arjen , you hit it.Its called cannabis !
Sounds very COOL, Lots of cool things about Indian Culter :D I used to be into Transcendental meditation backin the 70;s 8) In fact I still do it when I'm really stressed or can't sleep--the dog
Yea dog , even the beatles were there to learn it.
Sexy sadie....
Could you imagine that in our western "civilisation?"
Go out and smile at somone in the street, offer them a sweet, you'd either get punched or reported to the police as a pervert or both.....
Holi sounds a lot of fun.....!!!
:D :D :D
