I want to get someone to help me, but how much $$ is too much?
I just really need help with Electric. I already got the Chords down pat, but I need more help with knowing how to do riffs and stuff.
This has been discussed recently in the following thread:

Good luck!
i think it depends on where you live. here in nyc, i pay $40 for an hour. i've paid as little at $35 and as much as $60.
Thanks. Do you think I need a teacher for this little bit of help? Or do you think I could just ask for a few tips from the counter guy over at the Guitar Center? btw, im near Raleigh, NC
if you can afford lessons, even for a little while, it's well worth it. i've taken them off and on. you learn faster with lessons.
I like lessons -- it's like having a coach. I pay $16 for half an hour in Ohio.

How much should you pay for lessons? As much as you can afford.
How do you know you're getting good value for your money? If you can see you're improving. If you're not improving, you're paying too much for that particular teacher.

The normal range in my area tends to run from $15 for a 1/2 hour up to $60 for 1 hour. If you find a good teacher that you really feel is helping you then $60 per hour is not to much, for some basic lessons from a not so great teacher $15 per 1/2 hour is fair.
you can take online lessons from Noteboat. If you click on his name I think you can find his website. Or go to any of his articles. I think you can find the link there.
