OK,

I don't do this stuff much but I have a couple photos in Photobucket that I wanted to maybe use as an avatar but I can't seem to size them correctly. No matter what I do it always shows the picture in the original size which is too big.

I resized before uploading to Photbucket and tried again in Photobucket and still it shows the original picture.

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

assuming you used irfanview to resize , i would guess that you forgot to save the resized pic before uploading it again?

Cnev, seems like you have got your new avatar working. So that Dino has been removed for a cat now. It sure looks cute !

Happy Avataring. There's nothing like Foghorn Leghorn though. (Am I being loudmouthed ?)

At the top of each pic in Photobucket you will see Edit. Click on that. One of the options is to resize to Avatar size. I tried it, it worked. Here was a large pic of Jimmy Page I edited this way, let's see if it comes out avatar size.

Once you have done that, you have to copy the "URL Link" code at Photobucket , come to "Profile" (at top) here and paste in under "Link to off-site Avatar" at the bottom of the page.

Wes,

Thanks I got it. Actually when I did that in Photobucket it didn't work, so I went to another website shrinkpictures.com and I used that and it worked fine.

I cannot believe that there exists an exclusive website for 'shrinking' pictures. Hail the internet, however, everything's possible...

This looks similar to 'Learn guitar in 15 days, the surefast way and impress others with speed and technique.' or 'Play guitar exactly like {guitar hero} in 60 minutes'.
