He's done a feel of 'em. If I'm not mistaken, Mick Taylor did the same before he split and Ronnie came on board.

I first heard Ron's slide work on an LP back in the late 60's. it was Gasoline Alley with Rod Stewart.
blows me away how long he has been playing. he played steel at the latest Stone's tour.
and I have seen a youtube clip of Ron playing PSG with the boys singing 'Faraway Eyes'.
talented guy.
Dogbite,
The youtube clip I posted is the "Far Away Eyes" clip. Love that song.
Didn't Ronnie play bass guitar on Jeff Beck's "Truth" album too? I don't have it anymore, but I used to play that album all the time. Rod Stewart on vox too. 8)

I believe he did
Played bass on both Truth and Beck-Ola, with Rod Stewart on vocals, and Micky Waller on Drums .
In addition Keith Moon, Jimmy Page, Nicky Hopkins, and John Paul Jones also played on the Truth album
Immature? Of course I'm immature Einstein, I'm 50 and in a Rock and ROll band.

Here's a link to a youtube clip of Ronnie talking about his guitars - including the lap-steel and the pedal-steel.

And he did a pretty good lap time on the Top Gear test track last week. Is there no end to his talent?

The stones are one of the best country bands around 8) I always thought they should do a country album!
I saw them do "Far Away Eyes" in 78 on the "Some Girls" Tour :D

I thought I was alone on that. They can do about anything they want and sound good.
