that's standard for Bayern - the "Maß". You can get smaller, but only to special order! The Wies'n, as it's locally known, is very expensive - that Maß will cost you $10 - and most aren't a full litre anyway.
There are also a lot of young women wearing Trachten (local costume) - almost makes paying $10 for a beer worthwhile. :shock: :shock: :shock:

I have a photo somewhere of myself taken in Belgium in '75 at the Wieze beer festival with one of those 1 litre steins....to look at it, you'd think I was plastered...in fact, I'd had one mouthful, just happened to blink when the flash went off....ah happy days!!!
Since then I've dedicated a lot of time and money in the pursuit of the perfect pint...still haven't found it, but I haven't stopped looking...if only I'd spent as much time and money on guitars.....ah well!
