just bought this 12 string washburn on ebay....
well as the seller stated he was sceptical as to its age due to its condition...I was too 8)
anyway...picked it up today....it is in absolutely 'MINT' condition...not a mark on her :D
well i tried to verify the serial number and various sites state that first 2 digits indicate year of manufacture...86 :D
zero fret wear/genuine grover tuners/high quality craftsmanship (absolutely no glue blobs in body etc)/the top certainly seems to be solid and the headstock is the same shape as late 70's festival series I own
so......
is it possible that this guitar has passed through at least 3 previous owners AND never been played???
either way.....I've stretched the strings in and tuned her and she sounds sweet as nut
talking nuts....it seems to be a bone nut too!!!!
am I the luckiest guy on ebay or are my eyes rose tinted????
opinions anybody...spesh if you own one too
wow :!:
congrats - a bargain.
When things seem too good to be true, they usually are... but not always :D
...only thing I know how to do is to keep on keepin' on...

Certainly is possible. Not everyone takes to twelves.
Very nice find. Now, let's try to not have someone else write about this same comment about same guitar next year!
Have fun!
Peace

not likely....my stable of thoroughbreds is a keeper
that said I may have to thin my herd a little...3 washburns/1 yamaha/1 fender squier/1 gordon smith/ an old jedson tele copy and two cheapo messabouts
but then again
Washburn has made some really nice guitars. I have a D84SW "Golden Harvest" with Brazillian Rosewood 3 piece back.
... an old jedson tele....
Wow, that takes me back - I haven't seen a Jedson since the 70's! An old mate - the first person I ever jammed with - had a Jedson bass. I'd never played a bass before that - I think it put me off for years! The action was so high you could almost crawl between the strings and the fretboard, but he always said that bass was made for him.
:D :D :D

beautiful 12 string guitar. nice find.
I like the zipper on the back wood.
looks herringbone.
Nice guitar Ballybiker! The 12 strings guitars always have something special...
Did you receive it? Did you record any soundclips? :D
Once again, we are green.
I hope the 12ver plays well. More pics and sound clips please. 8)
aaaah..... :(
having tuned her up and left it overnight...its clear to see the bridge lifting and the belly bowing up slightly...not the end of the world...but in need of attention,so a visit to a luthier is needed for a full diagnosis....a bother but maybe expected
i'm guessing a bridge re-set and maybe brace re-glue should fix it...way above my 'expertise'...but i still feel I have a bargain 8)
meantime I've slackened the strings til I get to a luthier
I'll keep you posted guys
All the best !
