hello all,
as the title states I am in a search for more artists to listen and learn from. I am mostly interested in finger-style acoustic, since that is my primary study at the moment. I am a huge fan of Tommy Emmanuel, Don Ross, Alder, Andy Mckee(love this guy).
Does anyone know of any others?
I have a rather long commute back and forth from work and its a perfect time to sit back and listen.
thanks
KS
Hi KS,
I don't know the music style that you are looking for but here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fingerpicking there are a good set of names. And although he is not in the page, I think Paul Simon could be a possibility.

Oh, I don't know...... you sound pretty darned good to me.
As I type this I'm listening to a tune called "Scotch Mist" which I believe is by the esteemed Fingerstylist "McFretsource" and it sounds top notch. A touch of the 'Greensleeves' about it.
I seem to recall also enjoying "Snowdrop" (???) was it?
Cheers,
Chris
If you like Andy McKee, you should check out Erik Mongrain..

I may grow old, but I'll never grow up.
John Denver.
Music is the universal language.
thanks for all the artists guys, should keep me busy. If anyone out there has anymore, feel free.
Joao Gilberto.

after looking over some, many are country. Is that normal?? Cause for the most part I really don't adhere to that genre too well. On the flip side, although I am an Andy Mckee fan, I think that many of these percussion players over do it. I prefer the more melodic.
Preston Reed
Billy McLaughlin
Pierre Bensusan
I find Chris Smither to be an excellent fingerpicker. I ws at a festival once where Richard Thompson was onstage doing an acoustic number and I kept looking for the other guitars, but there weren't any, check him out.
Oh ya, Justin King
