-Mama Said-

Mama now I'm coming home
I'm not all you wished of me
But a mother's love for her son
Unspoken, Help me be
I took your love for granted
And all the things you said to me
I need your arms to welcome me
But a cold stone's all I see

-The Unnamed Feeling-

I'm frantic in your soothing amrs
I can not sleep in this down-filled world
I've found safety in this loneliness
But I can not stand it anymore

Cross my heard hope not to die
Swallow evil, ride the sky
Lost myself in a crowded room
You fool, you fool, it will be here soon

-Metallica-

Minus

And all the things you said to me
I need your arms to welcome me
But a cold stone's all I see

Let my heart go

One likes to believe
In the freedom of music
But glittering prizes
And endless compromises
Shatter the illusion
Of integrity

The Spirit of Radio - Neil Peart / Rush

And if that doesn't just about sum up the music industry today , then I don't know what does. (even though it was written in 1980)

I wrapped a newspaper ’round my head
So I looked like I was deep

I haven't read anything more true in a long time.

In the paper today tales of war and of waste
But you turn right over to the T.V. page - Don't dream it's over, Neil Finn of Crowded House

"If you give a man a Les Paul guitar, he doesn't become Eric Clapton. If you give a man an amp and a synthesizer, he doesn't become whoever. He doesn't become us." - Roger Waters, Pink Floyd

Some of my favorite lyrics:

"A groan of tedium escapes me, startling the fearful, is this a
Test? It has to be, otherwise I can't go on
Draining patience, drain vitality, this paranoid, paralyzed vampire act's a little
Old

But I'm still right here, givin' blood, keepin' faith and I'm still right here..." -song by TOOL

"And the snake is drowned and
As I look in his eyes,
My fear begins to fade
Recalling all of those times

I could have cried then
I should have cried then" -song by TOOL

In the shuffling madness
of the locomotive breath,
runs the all-time loser,
headlong to his death.
He feels the piston scraping --
steam breaking on his brow --
old Charlie stole the handle and
the train it won't stop going --
no it couldn't slow down.

He sees his children jumping off
at the stations -- one by one.
His woman and his best friend --
in bed and having fun.
Oh he's crawling down the corridor
on his hands and knees --
old Charlie stole the handle and
the train it won't stop going --
no way to slow down.

He hears the silence howling --
catches angels as they fall.
And the all-time winner
has got him by the balls.
He picks up Gideons Bible --
open at page one --
old Charlie stole the handle and
the train it won't stop going --
no it couldn't slow down.

I love Ian Anderson's imagery.

here's another Tull quote:

"Meanwhile back in the year one,
You didn't stand a chance, son,
If your pants were undone."

Playing guitar and never playing for others is like studying medicine and never working in a clinic.

Sadly, this is probably one of my favorite lines in a song ever...

She looks like the real thing
She tastes like the real thing
My fake plastic love

Fake Plastic Trees,
Radiohead.

I'd be waiting for you in the middle, but I just lack control" -Bradley Nowell, I Saw Red

"Ride the blue wind high and free
she'll lead you down thru misery
leave you low come time to go
alone and low as low can be" -Townes Van Zandt, Rex's Blues

Sorry, but time is at a premium ... I didn't read all the others, so if this is a duplicate I appologise!

"I'm the one that's gonna die when it's time for me to die. So let me live my life, the way I want to." Jimi 8)

"Work hard, rock hard, eat hard, sleep hard,
grow big, wear glasses if you need 'em."
