I'll second the early (Barrett) stuff, as well as the entire 'Wish You Were Here' album. Guess I'm an animation festival fan: How 'bout One of These Days ??
-=tension & release=-
Speaking of "Animals", it is my personal favorite from Floyd. In addition to the songs listed that were of the Syd era, "Astronomy Domine" is really good.
It is a small world for metal fanatics. I welcome you fellow musicians, especially the metalheads!
Delicate Sound of Thunder is a good live album, one of my faves.
What's this, Taso going to burn all his Clapton CD's and start listening to something else......shame on you
All the best,
Matt
lol.
Although it was a joke....I listen to Billy Joel more than I listen to Clapton...And The Who more than Clapton as well.... He's just my biggest inspiration as a guitarist.
Let us not forget "Careful With That Axe, Eugene".
I'll put in a good word also for Relics.
"I've got a bike
you can ride it if you like
It's got a basket, a bell
and rings and things to make it look good
I'd give it to you if I could
But I borrowed it
You're the kind of girl who fits in with my world
I'll give everything - anything you want thing
BOOM BOOM"
Does it get better than that? :)
One of my favorite Pink Floyd songs is Welcome to the Machine....
Too bad it don't work out too good for the guitar...
Thanks! i'm tired of the songs I been playing and was looking to learn something else..........Ewww! I need a Dirty woman...but
I better just go learn some songs first :P
I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, but when
you're a 22lb sledge, do you really have to be?
Have to agree that Animals is very underrated...Pigs on the Wingdoes it for me every time. Also check out Relics- some great tracks on there too.
stop...i have found a genius...stop...
apologies scrogdog- youve already got relics...and yes- 'Bike' is a very amusing song!
stop...i have found a genius...stop...
Well, I've checked out several of these songs... I think I like the more 'mainstream' pink floyd, and not the off center, kind of out there stuff they do.
Time
Another Brick in the Wall
Comfortably Numb
Hey You
Money
Wish You Were Here
Breathe
Welcome to the Machine
Those songs aren't just my favorite pink floyd songs, they are up there with my all time favorites. Very intense guitar playing, and I love Gilmour's voice, as well as (can't remember the bassists name...)
Can anyone think of any others, based on that list that I should check out?
Thanks again
Taso
Edit:
P.S. "The Trial" reminded me a bit of Les Mis.
Hi. After reading this post, I decided to learn another Pink Floyd song.
I learned, "Us and Them" It's a really easy song to learn and it sounds really nice. the music I got also included the sax solo in tab... haven't got that far with it yet, so I can't say if it's correct or not....
but anyways, you might wanna try that song
Oh and thanks for starting this thread. I was really bored with what I was playing, yet clueless as to what to learn next. and this song's as relaxing to play as it is to hear IMO :)

No problem! I actually started learning Comfortably Numb (took all of 5 minutes) right after I posted this.
have a cigar....lotsa stuff on the wall....if you can get your hands on that
everything on division bell and of course on darkside of the moon
$MAX$
the bassist is roger waters, and recently playing and that tsunami aid, and live 8. He should really stop singing to save whats left of his voice, and to sop my ears from hurting. He's really got nothing left.
I didn't think it was THAT bad, obviously not quite what it was. David Gilmour still sounds incredible though.
