The weather sucked but Great Show!!!!!!!!!!!!!
His Son opened the show, Followed by Robert Randolph. I tell you, If you ever get a chance to see this kid pawn everything you own if you have to to by a ticket. The things he does with a pedal steel are just amazing, and he has so much fun doing it. Tv and video clips of him in action just don't do him justice.
Carlos himself was in top form, the man has not lost a lick, his playing is so smooth and soulful, about brought a tear to my eye when he did Europa.
Immature? Of course I'm immature Einstein, I'm 50 and in a Rock and ROll band.

Santana's an amazing guitarist. And so is Robert Randolph. I was amazed when he opened for Clapton.
Sounds like a great evening.
Well we all shine on--like the moon and the stars and the sun.

Glad you enjoyed it Tele....I love Carlos's beautifully melodic, fluid licks... I just wish the bugger would visit the UK a little more frequently...I'd pawn my 12-string for a Santana ticket!!!!
:D :D :D

Yeah, Santana is great, very beautiful playing. One of my favorites.
Randolph, AMAZING. The whole band is amazing. I was also amazed when he opened for Clapton musen, really sounded great.
I've never heard anything from (or about) Carlos' son. How was his playing?
I agree with the comments about Randolph. I, too, saw him when he opened for Clapton and it was great. I'd like to see him again if he gets around here.
his son is a very good keyboard player

Kinda weird but I never got what the big deal is with Santana. Nice smooth melody lines, granted, but pretty much every solo of his (saw him at North Sea Jazz Festival in Holland) is the same as the previous one. Same tone, same licks, same technique. Kinda hoped he'd actually learned something new in the past decades...

Don't feel bad. Millions of people agree with you he' he's the King, imagine how much in pain I am. ;) Seriously, it's all about taste. BB king hasn't changed much at all for all his life yet that's cool with me so it's not like I'm saying Santana is a bad player. Maybe if he sounded more like BB king I would have appreciated him staying true to himself. (another way of saying he didn't change much, notice the same fact can be both positive and negative). :P
I think it's time I got new glasses. :?
I read the thread title as "Saw Santa Last Night"
Thought "Geez, that's a bit early, it's only October.... bet he asked for another guitar for Christmas..."
But Santana... better than Santa I'm sure. Sounds like a great show. :D
