I was looking at three string guitars on the net and ran across this guy they call Seasick Steve. This is some of the best primitive blues I have heard in years. I still cant get this stupid grin of my face :D

Looove Seasick Steve :D
What I lack in talent and natural ability, I will have to make up with stubborness.
Y'know, I've only heard and seen Steve on shows from the UK.
Did he not perform in the US before he crossed the ocean?
And, yeah, he's a lot of fun to watch. Not terribly sophisticated, but he plays the heck outta whatever he does.
You can see he's right into what he's doing.
I wrapped a newspaper ’round my head
So I looked like I was deep
Steve lived most of his life in the USA. He did some touring as a blues musician on occasion. In the late 80's he had a recording studio close to Seattle. He also worked as studio musician. He helped out on the first Modest Mouse CD and played on a few tracks. A few years back his wife of about 30 rears wanted to move back to Norway. Here is his wikipedia page.

You hear about blues being "Three chords and the truth" Sea Sick Steve has 3 STRINGS and the truth :note1: :note2:
Someone, and maybe it was you, turned me on to him a good while back. Perhaps minimalist, but darned good one man show. That leg must get awfully tired doing the mississippi drum machine.
Anyhow, thanks for posting this, smokingdog. What a great way to start my week. 8) 8)
A variation: Keith Richards quote on himself using the 5 stringer is something like '5 strings, one butt hole and the truth' . LOL

"I wonder if a composer ever intentionally composed a piece that was physically impossible to play and stuck it away to be found years later after his death, knowing it would forever drive perfectionist musicians crazy." - George Carlin
First time I heard him was about a week ago. Guys like Seasick and T model Ford are starting to pop up( guys who got famous late in life). Me thinks it may have something to do with You-tube. Also musicians are finding ways to make a living from you-tube. Hmmm....Look mom! No record company :note1: :note2:
