Just a follow-up to the "Bands You Just Can't Into" thread...

I'm sure everyone out there has a band that they were into at one time or another that you would never admit to having liked publicly today, but, secretely, when no one's around....

For me, I was a HUGE Prince fan in the 80's...I think I watched "Purple Rain" at least 100 times back then and thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread (it was on the other night and I must admit...that was one really bad movie). When I was young I was big into KISS as well (although, nowadays, its seems cool to like them again).

So all of you Menudu fans, it's time to finally come clean

Well, I would not admit this in front of anyone I know, but I have always dug the teeny boppin' sounds of Britney Spears!

Gak! I can't believe I would admit that! Actually, I wouldn't pay to go see a concert, but I do think many of the songs are cool, they do have that certain hook...

Sorry...I hope you all don't think less of me now...

Always a good topic. Brings out the best.

I had the Barry Manilow Live double album back in the day. So did my wife. We didn't know that about each other until about 18+ years of being married.

We've got it on CD now.

 I was just listening to the Thriller album. I bought the darn cassette three times used and none worked. People really played that album into the ground. I ended up getting the record off my friend's dad.

+1 for Prince and Revolution.

I love the J5. Even saw them in a big stadium show.
'I Want You Back' is perpetually near the top of my recently played list. I think I'm going to listen to it right now... :)

I have never been ashamed of the music I like, regardless of what other people think.

I liked quite a few of the "bubble-gum" hits in the late 60s and early 70s like:

I still listen to the Monkees, I especially liked A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit You. This was written by Neil Diamond.

Sugar Sugar by the Archies.

I still like this tune, very catchy, melodic, and great vocals.

Seasons in the Sun by Terry Jacks

I always loved that cool guitar with reverb. Just shows you don't have to play a lot to be effective.

Dizzy by Tommy Roe

Another great melody, and I liked the drums too.

I liked lots of songs by the Herman's Hermits like

Mrs. Brown

Henry the 8th

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=znv_sUPaKfE

Pretty great lead guitar there.

I could go on and on, I love all sorts of music, I don't care what others think about it.

I'm with Wes on this one. There's no music I like that I'm embarrassed or ashamed by. If I like it, then it's good music. There are musicians I like that don't necessarily fit in with most of the stuff I like (Amy Winehouse, for instance, or the Jackson Five and early MJ, even a few Carpenters tunes), but I'm not embarrassed by it.
