Can't name a single NY Dolls tune for you, but many people are familiar with singer David Johansen as a solo act (hits Funky but Chic and Girls back in the late 70s) and in his most recent personna, Buster Poindexter.

The Dolls were considered to be the beginning of "Punk". A british clothing store owner Malcolm McLaren saw them, tried unsuccessfully to manage them and went back to London where Glen Matlock worked in his shop and also played bass in a local group of questionable talent called the Wankers. Eager to get Punk going in Britian, he took the group under his wing and renamed them the Sex Pistols.

Immature? Of course I'm immature Einstein, I'm 50 and in a Rock and ROll band.
