Immature? Of course I'm immature Einstein, I'm 50 and in a Rock and ROll band.

Wow. Thats pretty awesome. This whole neo-classical/prog-rock/shredding thing is getting pretty popular...

You know, technically the kid can blow me away, but there is no feeling in it, no phrasing, just a non-stop assault of notes. That kind of playing just leaves me cold.

I echo what Tele said. I did notice the two chords, that I heard him play, were fluffed, so maybe all he can do is shred.
That had the emotion of a dead cod - it was like a scale exercise. I think he had the idea that throwing in a couple of bends and vibratos would give it "feel" - not for me, it didn't.

I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.
Did you know that the word "gullible" is not in any dictionary?

Definitly agree with that.

However, he's only 8 years old, he has quite some time to improve, and he's got a good start..By the time he's 15 I bet he's better than the rest of us. Or whenever he matures.

I'm easily amused.

For someone 41 years younger than me, he plays like our ages should be opposite but then he just disproved that so I don't know where I stand now.

it was cool for about 5 seconds, then i got bored. i'm just not impressed by shredding at all.

sure, he's got room to improve. but, if he just sticks to the shred, he won't improve. i think shredding in general is just so impersonal and lacks serious creativity. it's just a barrage of notes. anyone with a decent amount of dexterity can do it if they practice nonstop. the kid's off to a great start, technically. but he's not even close to being musical. that's all i see it as...a start. and to me, and most of us, the music is more important than the person playing it or the flash involved.

to kinda quote frost, he's got miles to go before he sleeps.

and now i must sleep. goodnight all

Let's give the kid his due, guys. At 8-y-o, I think he's got plenty of time to learn to add a little feeling. I'd give him credit for shear stamina alone.

So I'm not alone here?

Thank you, GOD Almighty. Did someone already say that?

This kid can really play fast 8) but it's like a "bowl of cold notemeal". I could only listen to half of it. Didn't do anything for me. No feeling.

He has all the time in the world to become musical.

I hope that this kid has good teachers who encourage good technique. It would be a shame that such potential could be jeopardized by physical injury. Playing guitar is such a physical activity, especially for young developing muscles. Just my impression.

Don't get me wrong...I really like the unexpected. 8) Thanks for the video.

Yea i agree, the kid has loads of talent and also loads of time to develop feeling.
shredding does nothing for me either but i still appreciate the skill required.

A lot of manual dexterity there. I'm sure with time he'll learn to play music.
