You can enter your funkiest amp, guitar or both. This is not really a contest, but I thought it might be fun. Mine is a EVH with an old Peavy combo I tore the amp out of so I could use the speaker. I have home made attenuator on top with an old Founder Electric custom that a friend gave me ( He was going to throw it away  ). I put a Dobro nut on it and use it for a lap steel) 8) 8) I kind of think of this as my "Blues mobile" rig. Elwood and Jake would approve :D --the dog
Is that a wall-speaker volume control you're using as the attenuator? Genius!
The Peavey logo takes the cake for ugly in any situation. I'm glad the previous owner of my Classic 20 removed (and lost) it.
:D

I got that idea from a guy at this forum http://www.valvejunior.com/index.html#disc
It cost me about $18 at radio shack and a few spare parts laying around the house :D

Check out the lovingly applied distressing. Includes "kisses" applied with screwdriver and some of my daughters fingernail polish, drop-dings from the slate patio, and faux belt buckle rash (not shown):

Greg, I love a guitar that looks like its been around the block a time or two 8) 8) Those old blues guys could take a piece of crap guitar and always make it sound great :D I suppose thats why i like a Stratocaster..you have to work the dang thing to get it sounding good, but once you come to an understanding with it you can do any thing you want to with it  --the dog
Great pics there , dog and greg.
Dog , your ripped off Peavey has been passed to be in the ugly's hall of fame.
Mike , your bass looks better now.You may consider putting some gloss over it so as to make it shine. It would be a beauty.
Thanks Rahul but, that would defeat the purpose of taking the finish off. I want the dull woodgrain finish.
It took me over a week (here and there) to chip off the finish, one little piece at a time. I could of sanded it but, I didn't want to take everything apart and I also didn't want to dig into the wood.
:P
NOW THATS UGLY!
ps it works too its normally a 6v6 amp but just to make it look more
nutso I put the 6l6 tubes in there
its all point to point up front the preamp hangs on the wall with the knobs
out back the power tubes and the phase inverter..

ps not to spam you guys but I also run uglyamps.com

#4491....
I actually joined guitar noise just to enter the ugly amp contest, I had searched google for ugly amps
since well thats me, and I saw this and could not resist :P funny thing is this amp sounds awesome
its kinda high gain like a hotrod marshall, the only thing that sucks is the speaker, I cant get it out of the cab
the nuts are stipped..
but I guess removing the grill cloth to get at the bolts would only improve the cosmetics!
cheers
