OK, I am on the Avril Lange bus, really enjoy her latest album.....

....some of my friends give me a hard time about the hair metal bands I listen to, but that is what was big when I impressionable...

Twisted Sister: Come Out and Play, Love is For Suckers

Metal Church: The Human Factor

Motley Crue: Red, White and Crue

Faith No More: Angledust

Skid Row: Slave to the Grind

and there are others, but for now I shall hide in the corner....

"Practice until you get a guitar welt on your chest...if it makes you
feel good, don't stop until you see the blood from your fingers.
Then you'll know you're on to something!"
- Ted Nugent

Ahh alas, I am not alone.

You know that Nelly Furtado song “Try” I think is pretty cool too,

You know I had a terribly embarrassing experience while I was at school I was about 11 or 12 years old at the time. Right around the time “How do You do” from Roxette came out.
Man I was rocking my welfare supported guitar out on that song like mad. So anyways, a buddy and I felt helluva brave one day and thought we would stand in front of everyone in class and give them a live show of this tune (singing only)
(I'm sinking in my chair thinking of the embarrassment I caused myself)

So anyway there we were singing along with a10 W all-in-one crap radio **insert nasal accent** I see you comb your hair
and gimme that grin.
It's making me spin now,
spinnin' within.
Before I melt like snow,
I say Hello
How do you do! **
Insert **air drums (swinging arms)**
I love the way you undress now.
Baby begin………..

I was looking over at my teacher I remember that face to this day – She was laughing so hard she almost needed an extra shot of hemoglobin.

You can't stop me I'm mentally unstable whooo

**Insert Howard Dean Scream here**

Minus Human

And all the things you said to me
I need your arms to welcome me
But a cold stone's all I see

Let my heart go

I have an inexplicable weakness for that Shakira song "Objection (Tango)".

And what's that Gwen Stefani song........? Hollaback Girl?

Pretty bad, huh?

.the whispers in the morning

That's "The Power of Love" - originally, I think, by Jennifer Rush.
That has got to be on of the best "last dances" there is.

I think that I could probably find one song from every singer, in every genre, that I'd like (except rap and I have major problems with anyone warbling and calling it R&B, but that's another thread).

Although the name is probably unknown to most of you, Peter Maffay comes to mind (but, then, "Über sieben Brücken" was OK).
Oh, yes, Nena - Uh-hum, so, moving quickly on.
Falko's "Amadeus"

I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.
Did you know that the word "gullible" is not in any dictionary?

I dont think any of the preceeding posts are un-cool bands or songs as all music is there to enjoyand its just a mater of taste. If its melodic i love it!

If anything can be classed as slightly embarrasing to own up to for me its

Anything by "ABBA" of course.

I dont know who sang it but I have always loved "Swinging on a Star"
and "There's a Hole In My Bucket Dear Liza"

Shirly Bassey

I love rock & roll so put another dime in the juke-box baby !

Duran Duran's "Rio" and "Arena" albums.

The Human League's "(Keep Feeling) Fascination" I used to hate that song, but it grew on me. It gets stuck in my head often.

Toni Basil. If anyone has heard her other songs and covers (Spacewalkin' The Dog) besides "Mickey", she could have been a punker chick with how she sounds in my opinion.

I'm also a sucker for '80's music videos. Thanks to VH1 Classic.

And last iio-"Rapture (Tastes So Sweet)" I spent the summer of 2002 trying figure out who or what band did that song. I guess that's not embarrassing.

Kylie Minogue, The Bangles, and Bananarama could be embarrassing though. :)

Leela James.

Only saw one of her music videos on MTV or VH1 or whatever. Never heard any of her other tunes but it was love at first sight for me.

All I could think through the whole video was "holy crap, a real band!".

And about half of "The Partridge Family Greatest Hits". Some of those songs are just great.

If "Old and In the Way" is uncool, then I'm a geek supreemo.

I'm quite partial to:

Uriah Heep is definitly nothing to be embarassed about, is it? They were (are?) amazing. Great song writing, great guitar, great singing.

Really though. Not a mainstream band, but they were very good!
