A friend of mine is trying to figure out the name of a song he heard on the radio. He believes it is Van Halen from the 80's. Starts out with an acoustic piano intro for a few chords/etc., then Eddie comes in on the guitar. Not much to go on, I know, but I thought it might jog someones memory.
I can seem to place a song of theirs that starts out with piano like that. Guess I am having a mental block. If you have an idea, let me know!
Thank!
Check the Jump album. That has a lot of keyboards on it.
I don't have all the Van Halen records in my computer. They used a lot of keyboards but it is not usual the acoustic piano.
Right now? But it is from the 90's...
Love walks in? But Eddie plays the keyboards...
Hmmm...Good suggestions, but I don't believe it is either one of those. He insists it is an acoustic piano intro & then Eddie (someone) comes in on the guitar. That's what throws me, as I don't recall acoustic piano stuff on their albums...
sounds like hair band. that ballad start covers many songs.
I could be wrong, but I thought Eddie only used a synth on their recordings and not an acoustic piano. Unless it was before the 1984 record but I don't recall that...
Why do we have to get old...
If it isn't Right Now, the only other song I can think of would be When It's Love
Why can't this be love?
It's synth, though. Unless my memory isn't working...
Best,
Ande

That would be my guess. Or maybe "I'll Wait", thats synth as well.

My friend says the chord progression is;
D minor, C, Bb, A, D minor.
I am thinking that is hearing another band & is thinking that it is VH, but he insists not. Some A7X songs would fit his description...
Does he know who is singing? That might narrow it down some.
