Went to the local market monday to order dog-food....the guy on the music stall opposite was playing "Don't Let The Sun Catch You Crying" by Gerry and the Pacemakers.....I said to him, please tell me that's off a greatest hits album....unfortunately, it wasn't, just a 60's compilation....

BUT.... noticed a John Lennon DVD, so I bought that...Sweet Toronto.... the Lennon/Plastic Ono Band tracks are the same as the "Live Peace in Toronto" album (I still have a copy of that on vinyl!!!!), but there are a few bonus tracks....

Bo Diddley - Bo Diddley
Jerry Lee Lewis - Hound Dog
Chuck Berry - Johnny B Goode
Little Richard - Lucille

The Lennon/Plastic Ono Band (Clapton on Guitar, Klaus Voorman on Bass and Alan White on Drums) tracks are...

Blue Suede Shoes
Money
Dizzy Miss Lizzy
Yer Blues (the definitive version, in my ears)
Cold Turkey
Give Peace a Chance
Don't Worry Kyoko (Mummy's Only Looking For Her Hand In The Snow)
John, John (Let's Hope For Peace)

The oldies and the first six Lennon tracks are quintessential Rock'n'Roll - the last two (which take up one side of the vinyl album) are mostly feed back and effects and Yoko wailing.....

I don't think I ever heard Clapton play better in a band setting. Considering they had very little rehearsal time, the band are tighter than a duck's rear end...and that's watertight!!!!

:D :D :D

Mmm Pet's music of the week;

I sent Vic a link to a Texan band called PilotDrift, since I want to drag him to go and see them while we're over there. So I have been playing that.

I have been kind of digging on Jamiroquais' new song - Feels Just Like It should.

Scissor Sisters, Nine Inch Nails, plenty of Tool of course and odd tracks here and there that I have been sent.

Another Texan band called Lomita, which my frined Desarae got me on to - They sound pretty good.

The Beatles. A Perfect Circle, Alice in Chains and OSI.

I think thats it for now

i found a CD of my dad's called "the very best of cream" I liked a few songs before such as crossraods, badge, i feel free. After listening to this, I like so much more of their songs like:
NSU
Anyone for Tennis
Swlabr
strange brew
tales of brave ulysses
those were the days
wrapping paper

other than that, i found the song I hate really badly, its not my most hated song but its pretty far up there, if anyone heard it, it's spoonful (cover) by cream. It's jsut a sum of really bad things put together
