So there is this guitarist I recently discovered (a bonus track on GH2 :D ) named Buckethead. I was wondering what some of you guys thought about him. If you haven't head of him then check this out.

He's in this month's Total Guitar magazine as one of the all time greatest shredders. It is a pity GnR released no new material whilst he was with them.

that always struck me as odd....
#4491....
It's really going to blow everyone away
when it's discovered
his secret identity is . . .
Master Nick!
It's the rock that gives the stream its music . . . and the stream that gives the rock its roll.
I got a kick out of Ozzy's comments (edited for profanity):
“I tried out that Buckethead guy. I met with him and asked him to work with me but only if he got rid of the bucket. So I came back a bit later and he's wearing this green Martian's-hat thing!
I said, 'Look, just be yourself'. He told me his name was Brian, so I said that's what I'd call him. He says, 'No one calls me Brian except my mother'. So I said, 'Pretend I'm your mum then!'
I haven't even got out of the room and I'm already playing mind games with the guy. What happens if one day he's gone and there's a note saying, 'I've been beamed up'? "

he knows his intervals and has nice sustian, but I find him somewhat boring.
I like buckethead purely because of the bucket he wears. Or else, he won't be called buckethead.
For the out-there quirky appeal, he's almost as cool as Paul Gilbert
Ewan McGregor: I said, "Eve, I want you to look after my wedding ring while I'm away," and she started to cry and I said, "Eve. Eve, I can't wear my ring or I won't get laid on the trip!"
For the out-there quirky appeal, he's almost as cool as Paul Gilbert
Now don't bring up that rumor! ;)

I think Buckethead is a very talented and unique guitarist.
I've listened to alot of his songs on YouTube, and he can play slow-melodic, and speed shred.
And then there's his sense of humor: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86DEKFissl4&feature=related

I know this is weird...... but when I first saw him I thought it was just Slash with a KFC bucket on his head LOL
together we stand, divided we fall..........
I like Buckethead, one of the only guitarist that comes to mind that has a phaser built into his guitar. I got his 'Coma' CD for Christmas many years ago and forgot I was listening to Buckethead, thought it was Joe Satriani. His ablums also seem to tell a story, no matter how weird it gets, then again so does/did Frank Zappa and Primus.

Everything is 42..... again.
I can't listen to Steve Via or Yngwie Malmstien or Satriani for more than a couple songs, but I really dig Buckethead for some reason. I saw him with Primus a couple times and he was great. Maybe that has something to do with it.
"He's half alive, he's half dead, folks just call him Buckethead!!"
i heard a quote by him
"sometimes it takes 1000 notes to make one sound"
after i started listening to some of his stuff with that mindset it made more sense.
he is a really diverse player. he's got some really nice acoustic stuff and he made this album called chicken noodles where he really displays his melodic side as opposed to shredding.
