Does that make me less of a musician? I ask tht because I've often thought about that and wondered if my lack of having this cerrebral connection makes me less of a musician...should I be having these feelings?
No ofcourse you shouldn't. A musician should care about the music, not the tools. The greatest painters cared about their work, not their brushes. Now I can understand that if you have spend years and years devoting yourself to music that you can grow fond of your guitar, but where I live most of the Zen-talk is being done by people who can barely drag themselves through Smoke on the Water. And when you care so much about the so called emotional connection but can't be arsed to practice a few minutes every day I call that 'wannabe artist'. You know, those guys that just smell of artistic aspirations.
But that's just me, others don't like to drown their chips in mayonaisse like I do.
