I listen to 8 solid hours of (BBC) 6 music today at work and absolutely loved it, I particularly enjoyed the Yeah Yeah Yeahs so I might check out one of their albums next week
Explosions in the Sky "All of the Sudden I Miss Everyone" Great CD. I walked into a store and the guy working there was playing it. Me and some girl in the store asked him who it was and bought both copies of the disc. I don't think that happens often. Not to me anyway.
Brain-cleansing music for brain-numbing times in a brain dead world

There's an amusing "Pirates of the Carribean" video for "The Worst Pirate Song" on YouTube. And it's that type of song that really gets stuck in your head. I like the Viking song, too.
The White Stripes - Icky Thump
Incubus - Light Grenades
Velvet Revolver - LIbertad
Pearl Jam - Live @ the Gorge
Bad Religion - New Maps of Hell
Eddie Vedder - Into the Wild
Not new, but new to me
Wes Montgomery - Incredible Jazz Guitar
Black Snake Moan Soundtrack
Albert King & SRV - In Session
I just got turned on to a band called
"Grinderman"
Nick Cave's newest project.
They're pretty good.
Research is what I'm doing when I don't know what I'm doing. - Wernher Von Braun (1912-1977)

Jazz is old?!?!?! Wow, I was just at the Monterey Jazz Festival and I'll tell you, I wouldn't have known it. I swear some of those artists looked younger then...well, old! I learn something new everyday.
Jazz has been around a lot longer than blues.
"A cheerful heart is good medicine."
"Jazz is not dead, it just smells funny"- Frank Zappa
Teamwork- A few harmless flakes working together can unleash an avalanche of destruction.
Jazz has been around a lot longer than blues.
I know. :D My post was sarcastic, actually.
I merely wanted to try to get the point across that as long a time jazz has been around, that doesn't mean it's old. It's always being re-invented, and there are always new people with new takes on it. Like this guy.

Jazz is always new. Jazz artists can be old, but the genre can't be.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Show your Bones, It took a while to like it but its a very good album
