a squier bullet that i still have  i plan on fixing it up for when my girls want to start learning. Its a neat little (its a jr. size) guitar that actually is pretty easy to play on despite the high frets....

Thanks, smokindog! That was a great bit of nostalgia. I now feel as old as I actually am. :|

I'd love to find a video such as that for the Tiger guitar. And I'm now obsessed with finding an image of my old Decca electric. I bought a "Decca Guitars & Amps" catalog card last night on eBay (my very first eBay purchase!!!!). I'm hoping that out of the 4 electrics shown, mine is one of them.

Anyway...thanks for the YouTube link! :)

Wow!

The Hammond H182 with Series 10 tone cabinet I've got sold new for around $4000 in 1967. If the original buyer(s) had only known they could have had "real professional pipe organ sound" for only $20 with an Emmenee!

With no sort of learnin' involved either! You just sit down and chords come flowing out of you. What a bargain!

Takamine G-series acoustic guitar. A decent sounding beginner's guitar.

Some people just buy certain stuff cuz they think if it's a "brand name" and it costs more it's better. Duh.

An '04 Epi LP Classic Plus that my (now) wife bought for me. I've put some Gibson Classic '57's in it and she plays and sounds like a dream! Much rougher around the edges tone than my SG.

Great Thread! (even if it has been done a few times before)

My first guitar was a Sears Silvertone acoustic 12 string (right handed)
not long before it was reduced to a 6 string.

This thread should be moved to the "I'm looking for a..." forum as a Sticky.
It would help a lot of beginners to see what we all started with.
