First I saw Roger Waters earlier this year, now I'll be seeing Buddy Guy during a Jimi Hendrix Tribute Concert!
He'll be performing along with Billy Cox (Hendrix's best friend, bass player), drummer Mitch Mitchell, The Doors guitarist Robbie Krieger, former Rolling Stones guitarist Mick Taylor, Hubert Sumlin, Chris Layton and Tommy Shannon from Double Trouble, and more.
Should be awesome. I love the Blues, and to see some legends like Guy, and Sumlin and some of my favorites like Cox, Mitchell on the same stage will be incredible.
If any of you want to go they are onsale at the following locations-
Oct 16- Washington, DC Dar Constitution Hall
Oct 17- New York, NY Beacon Theatre (SOLD OUT :( )
Oct 18- Hampton Beach, NH Casino Ballroom (where I'm going)
Oct 19- Atlantic City, NJ Etess Arena, Trump Taj Mahal
Oct 20- Waterbury, CT Palace Theater
Should be a great time. :)
That should be awesome! Buddy Guy is great on his own. I've got a live disc of his.
BTW: The Doobie Brothers/Peter Frampton were great last week.
Sept 16 Orlando: Queensryche/Alice Cooper/Heaven and Hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That sounds like a lot of fun. I am sure you will love the concert as one legend is tributing another one.
Enjoy !
congratulations. sounds like its going to be a great show. ive always wanted to see Buddy Guy. theres really no excuse for never having seen him, considering i live in Chicago. post again after the show and let us know how it was!

I'm jealous.
Buddy Guy is the greatest showman I've ever seen. I don't like the phrase "best guitarist" but I would say that Guy is the wildest, flashiest, most free-spirited guitarist I know. A tribute to Hendrix should be an awesome fit for him.
Now if they'd just take this show to my corner of the country!
I want to play guitar very badly -
and I do!
I AM WAYYYY JEALOUS
Teamwork- A few harmless flakes working together can unleash an avalanche of destruction.
That looks like one cool show!
:)
Don
Sounds like a great show! Have a blast Kevin! 8) :D

I've seen Buddy Guy and he is a true showman, you will love it. I've seen Mick Taylor on a couple of Dvds that I have and he is real great. I have a CD from when he was in John Mayall's BluesBreakers (Crusade i think) and its one of my favs.
Have fun, wish that would come to Florida.
