OK, here's my list of 80's albums....

Joshua Tree - U2
Steeltown - Big Country
Born In The USA - Springsteen
Centerfield - John Fogerty
London Calling - The Clash (bit of a cheat there, it was actually released in Dec '79, but I only bought it in Jan '80 - and since the singles lifted from it were all hits in the 80's, I think it qualifies - especially as 99% of its chart life was in the 80's....

:D :D :D

And as for 90's albums - so far I've been racking my brains and managed to come up with......

What's The Story (Morning Glory) - Oasis
Bridges to Babylon - Stones (You'll Never Make A Saint Of Me is CLASSIC Stones - a throwback to the glory days between '68 and '74....
Don't Stop - Status Quo - an album of covers, but take a look at the track listing.....

Fun, Fun, Fun (Brian Wilson/Mike Love) - performed with The Beach Boys
When You Walk in the Room (Del Shannon)
I Can Hear the Grass Grow (Roy Wood)
You Never Can Tell (It Was A Teenage Wedding) (Chuck Berry)
Get Back (John Lennon/Paul McCartney)
The Safety Dance (Doroschuk)
Raining in My Heart (Felice and Boudleaux Bryant)
Don't Stop (McVie)
Sorrow (Feldman/Goldstein/Gottehrer)
Proud Mary (John Fogerty)
Lucille (Albert Collins/Little Richard)
Johnny and Mary (Palmer)
Get Out Of Denver (Seger)
The Future's So Bright (I Gotta Wear Shades) (MacDonald)
All Around My Hat (Traditional)

That's all I got so far. As for the 00's - all I've got so far is John Fogerty's "Deja Vu All Over Again" and Status Quo's "The Party Ain't Over Yet" - well they're the only ones I've been out and bought. Oh - just remembered - George Harrison's "Brainwashed" album - I bought that too, but I'm damned if I can remember who I lent it to........

Vic, that's interesting you chose the Stones' Bridges CD. I totally agree with you. What a great album.

Taso, I gotta agree with your liking for Billy Joel. Got the 2000 Concert 2 CD set? What a performance....

OK, so top 5 seemed easy when I read this yesterday. I like how Vic broke it up into decades. But, I'll stick to the original format.

Exile on Main Street - Stones
Darkness On The Edge Of Town - Springsteen (Am I the only one who liked that album?
Bat Out Of Hell - Meat Loaf
The Wall - Pink Floyd (hated that album for almost 20 years. Love it now. Odd)
Get Your Wings - Aerosmith

I reserve the right to change to a different 5 tomorrow. It is totally mood dependant.

Yeah, simply awesome. Also the first time I heard Beethoven's Ninth, which I'm now a huge fan of. But yeah, great concert.

There's nothing like rolling down the road doing a few clicks over the speed limit on a Harley while listening to the title song. My bike is silver & black to boot. 8)

Darkness On The Edge Of Town - Springsteen (Am I the only one who liked that album?)

nope, I loved it too. With all the legal hassles Springsteen went through in the mid 70's, it took him four years to follow up Born To Run - but it was worth the wait. I also loved "The River" album, even though it got panned by the critics.

Hey Roy, make sure you don't end up torn and twisted at the foot of a burning bike!

Billy Joel - Piano Man
Billy Joel - The Stranger
Billy Joel - Glass Houses
Billy Joel - River of Dreams
Billy Joel - Streetlife Serenade

...(I know what you are thinking; Taso, why are you playing guitar? I do not know.)

The Very Best of Cream I think makes number 6...I don't want to bend the rules too far, so I WON'T tell you guys that My Generation: The Very Best of the Who makes number 7.

Thats funny, Ruhal is a big Billie Joe fan and Taso Loves Billy Joel. both posted Billy or Billie for all 5 choices :? Hmmmm..... must be some cosmic relation here

Another funny and rather strange thing is that you always write my name as 'Ruhal' instead of 'Rahul' which is the correct spelling. Cmon Dog, its just 5 letters of simple english... :o
