Taso - that's better than me, I still haven't bothered learning the rest of layla!!  Everyone in my school wanted to play Nirvana, so I succumbed.
I actually got a book a few weeks ago with a bunch of blues riffs. Most of the ones in there are a little too advanced for me, but there are a couple that are pretty simple. Right now my favorite has to be "Good Morning Little School Girl", not to hard and its just a cool tune.
Too many to list, but I love the intro for Pearl Jam's "Pellet Gun".

Favourite singular? You must be kidding!
Favourites of the moment, off the top of my head, in no particular order and by no means definitive*...
UFO - Doctor, doctor - All time classic air guitar intro
Errrr** - Roll away the Stone - Ditto
Gn'R - Welcome to the Jungle - They were trying to portray menace, and I say they nailed it.
Aerosmith - Eat the Rich - Now I've got my head around that trickily-timed slide bit, I could quite happily play that all day, every day
Ozzy/Purple - Crazy Train - Shame it didn't lead anywhere...
Jack Johnson - Taylor - Part of my occasional "timing could so with a polish" regime
Nirvana - Lounge Act - Love that bassline
Manic Street Preachers - Motorcycle Emptiness - More of a theme than an intro, but 'meh'.
Manic Street Preachers - Slash n' Burn - Must dig that one out, I almost had it a while back
Me - Lies - Yeah, yeah, I know... but I do love it. It'll be in hear here when it's finished ;)
* enough disclaimers? maybe something about limited liability? can anyone tell I hate my job? :)
** please someone spare me my mental-blank shame? ;)
One of my favorites is Clapton's intro to 'Lonely Stranger'.
Denny
The Weight- The Band.
Can't play it yet, but it's a dream for someday.
Take care,
Casey
I'm surprised that no one has claimed the following as their favorites:
Smoke on the Water - Deep Purple   This has to be an all-time fave of mine.
Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin     And just about any other classic that is banned from being played in guitar stores worldwide.
But seriously, just about any Lynyrd Skynyrd, Stones or Doobie Brothers' song. Edgar Winter's "Free Ride" is another that I hope to someday be able to play.

Oh yeah -- all of these were big for us guitar newbies all those years ago. Man, we struggled to play Free Ride and make it sound good.

:) Yeah - I can't get my head around the solo, but I mess around with the rest whenever I just need to blast something out  My favourite bit has to be that little bend and run at the end of the first line of the pre-chorus. I'm gonna have to dig it out tomorrow at work :)

Since no one has mentioned a single Harrison intro riff yet(?): I really like "I want to tell you" - simple and elegant - you should try it - it is in the ESD
