I picked up 3 instuctional dvd's this weekend. One pink floyd dark side of the moon by Hal Leonard. I watched this video and just like a lot of them out there is was just ok. Pretty disappointed I went back and bought 2 from Cherry Lane. Both of these were note for note instruction. One was the pink floyd dark side of the moon and the other Joe Satriani.

Dark side of the moon was pretty good. It covered some good material and was easy to learn by. Great for a beginner.

Satrinani is definity not easy stuff but still recommended for beginners. Both of these dvd's are note for note and give up close shots of both fretting and picking hands. I can't count how many times I've seen and asked myself on the forum the question of hand position and fingering. All three give good shots on how the pros play that stuff. The two by Cherry Lane the instructors slow it down and show things like bending, taps, hammer ons and pull offs.
