okay well i've been trying to sing ever since i started playing the guitar about a year ago..but singing has always been hard for me i can' hit notes and everything just seems to be wrong when i listen to myself sing. i want a raspy low voice like..alex band from the calling and im not sure if its possible haha when i sing its something is holding my voice back, its like my throat is clogged and its a habit. i can't seem to find my natural voice. the video down there..im not sure if its my natural voice or what..cause i sound different all the time

im trying to sing the calling - our lives right now but its so amazingly hard. my voice sounds different everytime i attempt to sing it.

just keep workin' on it. You sound good already. I personally was never good at strummin' while singin'. I pretty much do the same rythm for every song. But after a while (of playing the same song over and over and over) it starts to gel. In fact they would get so good sometimes that people would tell me they like my version of whatever I was doing better. Bottom line, remember the "soul" of what you're doing and it will eventually break through... And there's nothin' ANYONE can do about it!!!
