I was thinking that those cool and ultra small microphones you see on TV and live stage shows that clip to upper clothing, or around the face, or even off the hair, would be keen to utilize with guitar, especially to plug directly in to an acoustic amp... except that I've never seen them made commercially available (internet or stores) to purchase! What gives? Is the technology too sophisticated and engineered for "industry use", and otherwise cost prohibitive?

Hi!

There is a mini lapel microphone in the midst of many here, and some others on the market I guess.

This little image is poor and is not copyrighted; too bad the larger version is copyrighted. Wonder if they want to sell any?

I remember seeing a mini mike attached to a swan neck, that clipped to the edge of the sound hole, but I have no idea who made it. Sorry

I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.
Did you know that the word "gullible" is not in any dictionary?

Hi,

They're often called Lavalier microphones. Even our bigger local music shops have some in their catalogues - once I knew what to search for. (Thanks to Joe Hempel who I learned the name from here at GN a couple of weeks ago. :) )

Lavalier at Wiki

Google Lavalier microphone and you'll find heaps of hits at Amazon, ebay, various shops, manufacturers, etc.

Cheers,

Chris
