I liked it. it took me a while to hear that you were doing a version. I may be wrong, but you gave it a Mississippi John Hurt feel.
I enjoy versions. yours worked most of the time. that Fleetwood Mac song is a classic the way it is; pretty daring of you. :note2:

It's good. Your voice is great, so I guess this won't help?

I listened to the link and to "All Talk and No Action" waiting for the flaws or the "greenness" in your voice, as you suggest.

There's no problem, so just carry on! I like your inflection which is interesting and colourful - you need that to entertain... and it adds a lot to your already-silky smooth tone, which is wonderful. Your body language is all right but you don't need to raise your shoulder. It might look as if you're straining when you're not. So perhaps it was a fluke and you don't do it again?

Finally, though it wasn't apparent, most can use some better breathing and relaxation in the presentation, which comes with more confidence, and it will help improve phrasing and cadence, also co-ordination with the music or accompaniment.

Like a bird on the wire,
like a drunk in a midnight choir
I have tried in my way to be free.

Thankyou both for your comments
The guitar arrangement i play is pretty much "off the record" ( lindsey buckingham / fleetwood mac ) but i usually play blues and ragtime such as john hurt etc
so i was very pleased when you made that comparison.

Im not exactly new to singing but ive always felt as though im pretty awful at it. I seem to have made a breakthrough of sorts
though about a year ago when i started performing Paul Simons "feelin groovy". I felt myself really relax when playing and singing it ( a first for me !! ). Ive since tried to apply that same feeling to all my other stuff and have felt ( but not been sure of ) an improvement. I definately enjoy it a lot more !!

Ive relaxed a lot with regards to the timing of the singing i.e. i now try to let myself sing behind, ahead or on top of the rythym and then back again during a song. This seems to really help me loosen up, relax and breath.

Thanks again.

You did well. Even more well because, like a post or two above me said; it's freakin' Fleetwood Mac. And, covering any song from them takes guts.

Your singing was nice to hear. It was all you. And, you sang very confidently et cetera.

About the shoulder thing, I like it, because (to me) it just seems like your body naturally doing what it wants to do when you hear music. I don't mean dancing, but reacting in an expressive way. Or maybe it was fluke; only you'll know.

Hi Neil, I've had the same problem my whole life. You play well and sing better than me. Have you considered vocal lessons? After my 1st lesson I sang 100% better. Check out the article and links and tell me what you think. http://ezinearticles.com/?Singing-Exercises-Are-the-Push-Ups-of-Voice-Training&id=6681982
