i know the shure sm58 is the industry standard vocal mic, and i know they're definitely all right, but are there any that you prefer for getting the clearest sound over the largest range of tones and volumes?
gigging, not studio, btw.

In my own opinion, Shure make the best microphones. I've been using a wireless sm58 and couldnt be happier. Yes there are better models that shure make, such as the beta 58. Martina McBride uses a sm58 for her live performances. I'd say the sm58 is a great mic to use.
