Hey, I'm new so go easy on me haha.
I can sing fine when another singer is singing. So I think I can sing well to say a CD but when I'm singing a capella or along to my guitar I crash and burn. Am I tone deaf or something? ha

Thanks

Maybe one of two things is happening;

1) Your voice is tuning with the other singers sub-consciously and so when you do it alone it sounds off.

2) You are hearing the other singers voice above your own and so assume that you are hitting the right notes when you are not...

The second is more likely... try getting some backing tracks and recording yourself singing. Or record yourself singing along with the song in the background and play it back and see if you think you're still hitting the notes :).

Hope this helps,
