Anyone know anything about these? I'm torn between finding a bass or a steel. Sigh, I'll get both eventually I know.

How about a fretless bass?
That Kay looks nice. They were made by Valco (I believe), the same company that produced Supro, Silvertone, Nationals, and as you can see it has the famous 'string-through' pickup that so many blues and rock players (including Ry Cooder) swears by.
If the pickup's a little dead due to demagnetizing you can get new magnets from Rick Aiello that's guaranteed to put the guitar on fire.... 8)
I love the shape of this one, it's obviously a knock-off of the National Dynamic, one of the all time classic lapsteels. If I were in the market for another lap steel I'd definitely kept a close eye on this one. Assuming everything is in good condition I wouldn't mind paying up to $400 for this Kay, but it may go for considerably less since "Kay" doesn't have the same ring to it as National and Supro..

I keep thinking I should get a set of drums too.
Thanks Steinar. That gives me some reference point.

It's got 4 steels with it, too. Those things aren't cheap.
