Well, that makes three guitar-board buddies of mine who are or have been nurses.

I missed you by 6 years :( I lived on HC mathis drive across from Noble Park. not alot of blues players in western Kentucky for some reason. Lou Getton the weather man on the local NBC channel had a blues band , I hear he can play a pretty good guitar ala SRV. I used to work at the minit mart in ledbetter back inthe early 90's when i was going to nursing school, we may have crossed paths at some point :D --the dog

I'm sure we did cross paths. I moved back to the family farm from Colorado in 89 and in the early 90's was working for a veterinarian doing large animal work out of Paducah. I stopped in that Ledbetter Minit Mart on a regular basis.

Lou Getton is still the television weatherman and still has a band, but the best I can tell there isn't anyplace for them to play around here close. He's the only blues player I know of, and I've never met him.

Trying to play blues here is a lonely business.

I have been teaching sociology and philosophy at the community college in Paducah for a few years now. The state merged the nursing school in with our college. I bet I know some of your old teachers! I'm teaching a Medical Ethics course for the nursing students this fall semester.

Of course, back when you were here I wasn't even thinking seriously about trying to learn to play an instrument. That came later, as I decided it was a fairly safe expression for my impending mid-life crisis.

If it ain't true, it ain't blues.
