here is a recording of my National squareneck resonator
it has been a hectic week.
tonight I had the urge to steel some time to play for the sheer fun of it.
and I had a time of it.
I hope you do;
room for two..

slide awhile too

Hey dog, good playing but it almost sounded like it went flat for a second around 23 - 24 timeline.

did I hear that right?

playing squareneck on my lap the strings are nearly half an inch above the fretboard.
my intonation is thusly in my hands.
all my notes were intentional. none were flat in the sense you mean.

thanks for listening. slickcat...I really like my reso's tones.

none taken.
maybe you missed my point...playing for the sheer fun of it.
when I do that what ever comes out is fine.
the outside world fades away
it's just me and the guitar.

Dogbite,

Did you improvise that or plan it out first?

Marty.

Marty. I hit the record button and simply began playing. I responded to what ever came out.
one thing led to another. after listening I found i jumped from a minor to a major scale and then went east indian too.
pure fun. and a bit of learning too.
I then added an instrument track using my midi and some simple percussion effects.

I miked the resonator with a wide condenser. it was centered above the neck and bridge. about a 12 inches away.
I added reverb in the mix down.
I use a heavy chrome slide.
I enjoy playing for the fun of it. no pressure. my bag of tricks and licks come out freely...mistakes and all.
